Central Service Supervisor - JBH Central Sterile - Full Time - 1st Shift

Position Type

Full Time - 36+ hours per week

Under the supervision of the director, oversees the activities of the Medical Center’s Central Service personnel regarding stocking and furnishing of sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment.  Exhibits the values of F.I.R.S.T. (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).

 

WORKING CONDITIONS, HAZARDS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases.  Subject to burns and cuts.  Visual acuity required to perform various supply and inspection functions.  Manual dexterity is required to disassemble and reassemble instruments.  Exposure to a high degree of interruption, time restraints and deadlines.  Must be able to move or position 25 lb. independently.  Will typically work Monday through Friday but will have 24 hour responsibility for the department.

 

CONTACTS WITH OTHERS:

Primarily Central Service, Surgery personnel, and other hospital personnel. 

 

EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

All operating room, Central Service, and floor equipment.

Experience Required

Two years experience in the operating room or Central Service required.  Supervisory experience also required.  Previous experience in inventory management and a working knowledge of computers preferred.  Candidate should have excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.

Education Required

High School diploma or equivalent required.  Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Certification Required

Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or KY LPN license required.
