DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports reliable driver licensing operations by completing clerical and data entry tasks that keep information accurate and secure. The work helps maintain quality standards that the public depends on. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Application Handling: Retrieve, open, sort, and batch incoming paper applications
- System Processing: Inquire and process information in the DL&C system and other computer programs
- Data Entry: Examine and enter driver licensing application data within established production standards
- Quality Maintenance: Maintain an error rate at or below the unit’s 2 percent standard
- Customer Support: Provide helpful, accurate, and timely service to all customers
- Team Collaboration: Assist Clerical Assistant 3 staff with notepad-related processing tasks within guidelines

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 7:30am to 3:30pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
This position is subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement or memorandum of understanding. If no applicable union-covered bidders apply, other applicants will be considered.

Permanent full-time Clerical Assistant 2s can be considered for lateral transfer.
