DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this Clerical Assistant 3 position, you will be responsible for evaluating, determining eligibility, and processing applications for initial licensure, renewal, reactivation, and assisting in continuing education audit for licensing Boards. Your work will help ensure that licensed professionals meet rigorous standards of competence and ethical conduct. Duties in this role include the following:
- Application Review: Examine licensure, certification, and authorization applications to determine if eligibility should be granted for initial licensure, renewal, and reactivation of existing inactive licenses
- Data Verification: Evaluate and validate licensure, certification, authorization, and continuing education data for accuracy, completeness, and the presence of all required documents
- Report Coordination: Determines if all licensure requirements on application are met and if an inspection report should be ordered; send requests through appropriate channels; review completed reports
- Licensure Processing: Issue licenses, prepare certifications, and distribute notices of discrepancies or approval in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies
- Records Research: Assist with continuing education audits; research and verify licensure records
- Applicant Communication: Responds to inbound phone calls and makes outbound phone calls; provide information to applicants and the public through phone, email, and written correspondence

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Schedule is negotiable.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 50%, after successful completion of the six-month probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or
- One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

This position is subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement or memorandum of understanding. If no applicable union-covered bidders apply, other applicants may be considered.

- Clerical Assistant 2
- Employees who previously held regular civil service status in the job title of the position being filled are also eligible for promotion without examination.
- The promotion without examination requirements are issued in accordance with merit system employment regulations.
- Meritorious service is defined as (a) the absence of any discipline above the level of written reprimand during the 12 months preceding the closing date of the posting, and (b) the last regular or probationary performance evaluation showing an overall rating of satisfactory or higher.
- Applicants must have a minimum of one year in the next lower class by the posting closing date with no break in service.
