Job Summary

Works onsite at the Kellogg Eye Center coordinating moderate to complex clinical research studies,managing associated IRB applications,and overseeing and participating in participant recruitment and data collection,which may include vision assessments, imaging studies,motor assessments,neurocognitive testing and survey completion.

Responsibilities*

Collects and maintains patient data for clinical research projects. Screens and oversees recruitment of study participants. Coordinates scheduling of experiments,procedures,and visits. Manages data collection,processing,and analysis in line with study protocols. Monitors subjects for safety and compliance. Completes IRB applications and associated documentation with PI support. Collaborate swith clinical decision support teams and stakeholders to ensure consistent system standards.

Required Qualifications*

Proficiency in human subjects research protocols,Good Clinical Practice(GCP),and regulatory compliance. Knowledge of the IRB application process relevant to clinical research in academic medicine. At least 1 year of experience in direct clinical research participant interaction.

Desired Qualifications*

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to work in dependently and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Experience with electronic data capture systems and research databases including REDCap. 

Experience with scientific writing.

Basic knowledge of ophthalmology/eyecare

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Work Schedule

This position involves a standard Monday-Friday, 40-hour work week. Remote work may be available when being onsite is not necessary for patient testing or recruitment.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
