POSITION TITLE:      Co-Op / Investment Operations Specialist

DEPARTMENT:           GIO/MDT SMA Operations

The purpose of this Co-Op position is to support the trading and portfolio management functions of Federated Hermes MDT Boston, MA. The Co-Op will have knowledge of all basic functions performed in Investment Operations including all aspects of new account initialization, trade support, and proxy voting. The Co-Op will effectively interact with clients, brokers, and Federated Hermes staff in Pittsburgh and Boston on basic issues.
 

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

• General understanding of investments and financial markets preferred
• Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required

MAJOR DUTIES:

• Support the trading and portfolio management functions of the Boston office
• Review new account documents for completeness and accuracy
• Set up new accounts on the APL, Axys, Vestmark as well as on DocStar
• Coordinate “first day of trading” for new accounts through communication with the client, the Boston trading desk and other Investment Operations Specialists
• Perform pre-market-open reconciliation procedures to ensure that client account data in the portfolio accounting systems is accurate
• Process deposit and withdrawal requests from brokers and clients, including coordination of trading with the Boston Trading desk
• Provide a high level of quality service to both internal and external clients
• Answer questions from clients, brokers, consultants, and sales staff regarding new account processing matters
• Prepare internal reports for Federated Hermes management regarding new account activity and the status of in process new accounts

• 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
