About this role

RTX, through Collins Aerospace, develops technologically advanced solutions for the aerospace and defense industry. The Co-Op Software Engineer will develop software systems supporting a Microelectronics wafer fab and contribute to applications across multiple product lines. The role involves requirements definition, software design, implementation, and software-hardware integration.

What you'll do:

  • Software Engineer in this organization, you will be involved in the development of state-of-the-art software systems to support our Microelectronics wafer fab
  • Technical responsibilities for this software engineering position will primarily encompass working in a software role and contributing to key decision-making for the successful development of applications across multiple product lines.  There will be involvement in requirements definition, collaboration on software design, implementing software, and software/hardware integration

What they're looking for:

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) discipline
  • Experience in software engineering tools, including version control and debuggers
  • Experience with SQL and databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with standard full lifecycle software development practices and configuration management tools
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects
  • Experience developing in an Agile and/or DevOps environments
  • Experience developing in a Windows environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and fix complex software problems
  • Experience with API concepts and technologies (e.g. JSON, XML)
  • Experience with Python, Flask, AngularJS and C#
  • Experience using software tools such as Confluence, Jira, and Git
