About this role
Salt River Project (SRP) is one of the largest public power and water utilities in the U.S., and they are seeking a motivated Advanced Degree Intern to support the Enterprise AI Hub. This internship provides graduate students with the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world AI initiatives that support SRP's responsible adoption of AI technologies.
What you'll do:
- Partner with business teams to analyze opportunities where AI can improve productivity, efficiency, and business outcomes
- Support AI governance activities including policy mapping, standards reviews, risk assessments, and documentation
- Assist with reviewing AI use cases submitted by business units for business value, feasibility, risk, and strategic alignment
- Conduct research on emerging AI technologies, vendors, industry trends, and utility use cases
- Support strategic planning activities, AI roadmaps, and portfolio management initiatives
- Assist with AI intake, triage, and governance processes across the enterprise
- Develop presentations, reports, dashboards, and executive briefing materials
- Help maintain AI inventories, approved capability catalogs, and governance records
- Become proficient in Microsoft 365, Copilot, Teams, SharePoint Online, Power BI, ServiceNow, and other enterprise AI platforms
What they're looking for:
- A bachelor's degree relevant to the assignment from an accredited institution is required
- Candidates must be actively enrolled in a Master's program (Science or Business Administration programs) at an accredited institution pursuing coursework in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related AI-focused disciplines
- All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Currently, SRP does not sponsor H1B visas, OPT, or other employment-related visas
- Strong analytical, research, written, and verbal communication skills preferred
- Experience with AI tools and technologies is desirable
