We are seeking a Commercial Business Banker to join California Bank & Trust in Irvine, CA. The Commercial Business Banker plays a key role in managing and expanding a medium-sized portfolio of commercial clients by deepening existing relationships and proactively sourcing new business.

 

Responsibilities

  • Drives the growth, retention, and strategic expansion of an assigned portfolio of existing commercial business banking clients.
  • Proactively sources and acquires high-quality new business customers through targeted business development, cold calling, referrals, and community networking.
  • Acts as a trusted financial advisor to identify client needs and recommend comprehensive banking solutions, contributing to loan and deposit growth through strategic cross-selling.
  • Develops deep knowledge of each client's business operations and personal financial goals by conducting regular on-site visits and executing relationship management plans.
  • Collaborates across internal teams and departments to ensure client inquiries and requests are resolved efficiently and professionally.
  • Consistently achieves or exceeds key performance indicators, including regional revenue targets, portfolio profitability, client retention, and client satisfaction metrics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in banking, finance or a related field and 4-6+ years commercial lending or other directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.
  • Possesses advanced knowledge of commercial loans, credit analysis, lending, and loan processing and closing procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to expand commercial lending portfolios, deepen client relationships, and successfully cross-sell a diverse range of banking products.
  • Strong sales ability paired with solid experience in applicant interviewing and perceptive character judgment.
  • Proven skill in structuring complex commercial loans and actively monitoring credit performance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills, with a working knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experienced in managing a medium-sized commercial portfolio.

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $117,000- $165,000 in Irvine, CA depending on job-related factors such as level of experience.
