Responsibilities This position will cover North Carolina and Ohio! Applicants must live in Charlottesville or Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area. The Community Liaison directly serves as the liaison between the facility, the community, and referring agencies. The Community Liaison is directly responsible for creating demand for Cumberland Hospital’s services through the effective application of ethical marketing principles and sales methods. The Community Liaison provides community education on the mission and goals of Cumberland Hospital by utilizing professional account management skills. In collaboration with the Director of Business Development and Business Development Team, the Community Liaison presents a positive and professional public image of the facility within the community. The Community Liaison is responsible for implementing Cumberland Hospital’s strategic sales plan, enhancing Cumberland Hospital’s brand/image, effectively managing their assigned territory and accounts, and works to achieve departmental and facility business development goals. The Community Liaison must be able to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience, and dedication in a fast-paced environment. Hours are based on departmental, and facility needs and may include day, evening, and weekend hours as well as overnight travel as directed by the Director of Business Development. Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities: Assists the Director of Business Development in developing and implementing a strategic plan to promote the services offered at Cumberland Hospital to all potential referral sources in a manner consistent with the mission and vision of the hospital. Emphasizes consistent face-to-face contact through frequent travel (or by utilization of technology to combat unforeseen challenges) within an assigned geographic region to maintain a database of healthcare professionals. Effectively identify, establish & maintain rapport with potential and existing customers in the market. Carry out these tasks with the utmost professionalism in representing the mission and vision of the facility. Plan and follow through on scheduled face to face calls, unscheduled drop-ins, consistent branding awareness (mailers, emails, phone calls), & strategic/geographic branding awareness campaigns. Educates and communicates the hospital’s services, programs, and exclusive benefits. Responsible for growing patient census by consistently exploring the development and identification of new referral sources. Providing opportunities to educate and build awareness of clinical services provided by Cumberland Hospital. Maintain and manage existing accounts, identifying referral source needs, and tailoring services to meet those needs. Implement a business plan that identifies who will be seen and the strategic importance associated. Identify potential customers that could benefit from the facility clinical programs. Obtain accurate and complete information about the customer. Prepares for pre-placement visits in a timely manner with follow through with referral source. Use SWOT analysis to guide and determine strategy. Include other outreach tactics such as community and client engagement, conferences, and tradeshows. Implement the plan using effective time management. Follow through with plan, update appropriately with obstacles and new opportunities. Complete the plan in a timely, thorough manner each month. Coordinates with the Director of Business Development on-going updates of the Referral Source Data Base. Obtain and provide management with up-to-date information about changes in the market, maintain point of contact and protocol systems for each account. Document database and UHS tracking tools with clear and concise details. Completes all required reports and requests for information in a timely manner. This includes, but is not limited to expense reports, weekly/monthly reports, and other reports as requested. Coordinates with the Admissions Department efforts to follow up with all referral sources regarding referrals and admissions. Recognize and resolve barriers to admission and assist with the coordination of the referral-to-admission process. Reference customer-oriented selling skills during the course of the marketing process. Effectively assess customer needs, overcome objectives, follow through with commitments and communicate positively. Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position. Qualifications Qualifications: Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Requires excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing; ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Requires the ability to think quickly in times of stress or crisis. Skills in public speaking and problem solving. First-class customer service skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Public Relations/Business/Counseling, or a social science related field (minimum). Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) preferred. Experience: 2+ years in a related healthcare field. Medical and psychiatric health care marketing experience preferred. Five or more years of experience may be substituted for educational requirement. Safety Requirements: Knowledge of and adherence to company safety practices. Licensure: Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record (terms vary depending on state) of which license is held in). Physical Requirements: Must be able to operate a computer and review reports containing data with small print. To read and write proficiently in English. Must be able to speak clearly. Hearing and vision must be sufficient to perform the essential job functions. Must be able to travel daily (depending on assigned territory) via various methods of transportation (airplane, car, bus, metro etc.) sitting for long periods of time. Overnight travel up to 50% may be required. Must be able to occasionally lift 30 pounds and carry small objects.
