About this role
At Micron, our EDA and Design Enablement team sits at the center of memory technology development. We build, maintain, and optimize the tools, methodologies, and design flows that enable world-class CMOS design at scale. By partnering closely with design, layout, and process engineering teams, we solve complex technical challenges that directly contribute to product innovation and business success.
As a Computer Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and advancing the design ecosystem used across Micron's engineering organization. You will develop, debug, and enhance both in-house and commercial EDA solutions while collaborating with multi-functional teams to improve engineering productivity, design quality, and workflow efficiency. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical problem solving, software development, and enabling engineers to perform at their best.
## Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance EDA tools, design flows, and methodologies that support CMOS design and verification activities.
- Debug, evaluate, and provide production support for in-house and commercial EDA solutions in Linux/Unix environments.
- Collaborate with design, layout, and process engineering teams to identify and resolve workflow, automation, and tool integration challenges.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and deliver training and support for engineering users.
- Leverage AI-assisted tools and technologies, where appropriate, to improve development efficiency, workflow automation, and design enablement processes.
## Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrated programming and software development experience with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in Linux/Unix environments, including shell scripting and automation.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering teams.
- Ability to learn and apply AI-enabled tools or technologies to support engineering productivity and workflow improvement.
## Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI and Agentic AI creation.
- Experience programming in Python and SKILL.
- Academic or industry background in VLSI, IC design, semiconductor design methodologies, or CAD/EDA tools.
- Experience with schematic capture, physical layout, simulation, verification, or related design flows.
- Understanding of CMOS implementation tradeoffs, including area, performance, and power optimization.
- Experience developing, supporting, or improving EDA design flows, automation solutions, or engineering infrastructure.
## Benefits
Micron offers medical, dental, and vision plans; programs to help protect income in case of illness or injury; paid family leave; paid time off; and paid holidays.
