Computer Vision Software Engineering Intern

Toyota Material Handling is seeking a Computer Vision Research Engineering Intern to join its Advanced Research & Development team. The role involves developing computer vision algorithms, training and evaluating deep learning models, creating proof-of-concept systems, and implementing software solutions while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

What you'll do:

• Develop algorithms for recognition and identification using computer vision and other software development tools
• Create proof of concept modules and systems to validate project and design decisions
• Maintain detailed schedules that support overall product schedules and properly communicate status to management
• Create and update technical documentation, test plans, and test results, analyze results and provide conclusive reports
• Work on a team to complete projects with high quality while maintaining schedules
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and software engineers for project development in multiple teams and departments

What they're looking for:

• Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or equivalent degree program in related field of study
• Excellent C++ and Python programming skills
• Knowledge of TensorFlow or other machine learning platforms
• Experience developing algorithms for image processing using OpenCV
• Fluency with Linux development environments
• Advanced research and prototyping experience
• Demonstrated innovative problem solving and project implementation experience
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges
• Passion to understand and solve customer focused challenges
