Description

 CenCore is seeking a Construction Surveillance Technician (CST) to support secure construction operations in Colorado Springs, CO. The CST is responsible for monitoring construction and renovation activities within secure or sensitive environments to help protect classified information, prevent unauthorized access, and ensure compliance with applicable government security requirements.

This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance and experience supporting construction surveillance, physical security, or related secure-site operations. The CST will work closely with security personnel, project teams, and construction staff to observe site activity, enforce access control procedures, inspect materials and equipment, document findings, and report potential security concerns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor construction, renovation, and related site activities to help ensure classified information and secure areas are protected.
  • Enforce access control procedures and verify that only properly authorized personnel enter controlled construction areas.
  • Observe construction personnel, materials, tools, equipment, and deliveries entering or exiting secure construction areas.
  • Document and report suspicious activity, security incidents, policy violations, or deviations from approved construction plans.
  • Conduct inspections of materials, tools, and equipment for compliance with site security requirements.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and other required documentation.
  • Communicate timely and clearly with security management regarding potential threats, concerns, incidents, or compliance issues.
  • Coordinate with security officers, project managers, construction personnel, and other stakeholders to support adherence to established security protocols.
  • Support compliance with applicable government security standards, including secure construction and physical security requirements.
  • Remain alert to changes in the construction environment that may affect site security, accreditation, or operational integrity.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to provide a valid U.S. Passport Book or Passport Card, if required for assignment or travel.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction surveillance, physical security, construction security, government security, military security, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with government security requirements and secure construction standards, including ICD 705, TEMPEST, or related guidance.
  • Ability to monitor construction activities for extended periods in an active construction environment.
  • Ability to inspect materials, tools, equipment, and site activity with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong observational, documentation, and reporting skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow established procedures, escalate concerns appropriately, and maintain professionalism in sensitive environments.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting government, military, Intelligence Community, or cleared construction projects.
  • Experience working in or around SCIF, SAPF, or other secure facility construction environments.
  • CST certification or other relevant security/surveillance training.
  • Familiarity with construction drawings, approved construction plans, or secure construction documentation.
  • Experience using inspection, access control, CCTV, alarm, metal detection, x-ray, or other surveillance-related equipment.
  • Knowledge of Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) principles or secure construction best practices.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Position is performed on-site in a construction or renovation environment in Colorado Springs, CO.
  • Work schedules and shifts may vary based on project needs, construction activity, and mission requirements.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, observe, and monitor construction activity for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work in varying weather conditions and construction site environments.
  • May be exposed to noise, dust, uneven surfaces, and other conditions commonly associated with active construction sites.
  • Must be able to comply with all site safety, security, and access control requirements.

Compensation Overview
This position is anticipated to pay $44.00 per hour, based on the requisition information provided. Final compensation may depend on contract requirements, candidate qualifications, experience, work location, and applicable law. Per diem, lodging, and travel reimbursement may be available if permitted by contract terms and assignment requirements.

Eligible employees may enroll in company-sponsored medical, dental, and vision benefits in accordance with plan terms and enrollment requirements. The company contributes toward employee healthcare premiums, subject to plan provisions.
