About this role

Meta is seeking a Content Policy Associate Manager to shape how we think about actor behavior and platform integrity – defining the policies, frameworks and guardrails that govern how accounts, pages, groups and new products operate across our platforms. As a content policy associate manager, you will work closely with a number of other teams across Meta, including Product, Global Operations, Legal, Communications and Public Policy. The work spans policy counseling for new product launches, counseling on appropriate integrity safeguards, shaping governance frameworks for AI-driven content moderation, and driving clear, well-structured decision-making across leadership and cross-functional partners. You will also support escalation coverage, election readiness, and crisis response when needed. At times, you will be expected to make difficult decisions, within tight timelines and evolving circumstances. The ideal candidate communicates with precision and clarity, distills complex tradeoffs into actionable recommendations, works effectively with a wide range of cross-functional partners to drive alignment and build consensus, and thrives with a high degree of autonomy on sensitive, fast-moving issues. You should be comfortable naming risks explicitly, assessing impacts on free expression and safety, and driving alignment across teams with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to assess policy risks in new launches, tests, and product changes — defining safeguards, flagging tradeoffs, and clarifying escalation paths before features reach users
  • Own policy counseling for actor-level enforcement, assessing proposals for impacts on free expression, safety, and enforcement precision — ensuring risks are surfaced early with clear guidance for operations and integrity teams
  • Shape governance and policy frameworks for AI-driven content moderation — including automated enforcement decisions and post-deployment monitoring to ensure defensibility and accuracy at scale
  • Build consensus with cross-functional partners including other Product Policy and Public Policy teams, Central Product, Operations, and Legal — translating product developments into concrete policy risk analysis
  • Support regulatory and communications inquiries and represent Policy in cross-functional meetings
  • Contribute to election readiness and crisis response efforts, coordinating with other integrity and legal teams as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., public policy, law, political science, communications, or a related discipline)
  • 4+ years of experience in content policy, trust and safety, platform integrity, operations, legal, government, nonprofit, or a related field
  • Experience working autonomously and cross-functionally to develop policies and apply analytical thinking to ambiguous, complex problems
  • Judgment to operate independently on sensitive topics and escalate when appropriate, including across time zones
  • Experience communicating complex policy positions clearly and succinctly in writing to executive audiences
  • Ability to work with potentially sensitive or objectionable topics
  • Experience presenting policy positions verbally to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience partnering with Product and Engineering teams to define policy requirements for new product launches or feature tests
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience assessing policy tradeoffs across free expression, safety, and product goals — and translating those assessments into clear recommendations
  • Experience developing governance frameworks for AI-driven or automated decision-making systems
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Experience with enforcement architecture such as strikes and penalties design, or entity-level enforcement frameworks
  • Experience supporting elections integrity or crisis response operations at a technology platform

Compensation

  • $94,000/year - $143,000/year; Country: US; Bonus eligible; Equity eligible
