The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious meals according to established menus and recipes while maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen. The position involves preparing ingredients, cleaning and sanitizing food preparation areas and equipment, and maintaining kitchen supplies. The Cook also orders and receives food deliveries and follows nutrition, health, sanitation, and safety regulations. The role requires effective communication, a positive and professional attitude, and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.

 

This position is located in Staten Island, New York. 

  • Prepare nutritious meals according to established menus and recipes.
  • Measure, wash, cut, chop, and prepare ingredients.
  • Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, equipment, utensils, and workstations.
  • Stock and restock kitchen supplies.
  • Order and receive food deliveries.
  • Follow nutrition, health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain proper personal hygiene and food-safety practices.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and staff.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant Cook experience required.
  • Experience in a restaurant, institutional kitchen, or similar setting.
  • Valid Food Protection Certificate/Food Handler’s License required.
  • Culinary School training preferred.
  • Knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, kitchen equipment, and food preparation.
  • Knowledge of menu, recipe, food safety, and sanitation procedures.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
USD $21.74 - USD $21.74 /Hr.
