Job Summary

Function will vary according position assigned. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: hot food production, cold food preparation, stocking, delivery, assembling meals and following established standards for patients/guest for the "Catering to You" meal program, sanitation duties, pot and dish cleaning, and cafeteria service.

Essential Functions

• 1. Adheres to WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors
• 2. Punches in/out as required based on assigned work schedule.
• 3. Reports to kitchen ready to work in uniform as provided with visible identification badge.
• 4. Demonstrates/Articulates an understanding of responsibilities of the assigned positions.
• 5. Verbalizes and applies knowledge of current department policies and procedures.
• 6. Attends staff meeting, in-service or equivalent to update knowledge related to current department/hospital issues as required or requested.
• 7. Completes annual department/hospital competency requirements and they are documented appropriately on Competency/Education Record.
• 9. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
• 10. Adhere to HACCP guidelines.
• 11. Adhere to recipe guidelines.
• 12. Adhere to Safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Required or
• GED Required or
• Certificate Culinary Degree or Certificate Program Preferred or
• 4-6 years 5 years culinary experience in healthcare/restaurant/hotel. Preferred or
• 1-3 years Culinary degree or certificate program Preferred
• Must be able to read a menu and menu ticket, ability to read a recipe, ability to work under pressure, ability to maintain an even temperament in stressful situations. (High proficiency)
• Culinary Certificate Preferred
