Job Description
POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Center of Innovative Practices is home to a multi-disciplinary team of behavioral healthcare professionals in areas of: systems of care, child, youth and family mental health, substance abuse, trauma, and resilience, providing consultation and technical assistance at the local and state levels on evidence-based practices, program implementation, fidelity evaluation, and system of care policies and practices. The Center of Innovative Practices received a grant to become the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health's Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Center of Excellence (CABH COE). Its goal is to achieve a widespread and sustainable system of care across Ohio through training and professional development activities. The CABH COE supports over 20,000 training participants per year.
The Professional Development Specialist will work under supervision to provide administrative management of Center of Innovative Practices and Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Center of Excellence's professional development related functions and events. The specialist will function as a technical resource and advisor for both virtual and live training events, which may require traditional and non-traditional work hours and locations. The professional development specialist will primarily support the Center of Innovative Practice's training participants and use of the Learning Management System to register for training sessions, create learning management accounts, access individual training accounts for training certificate retrieval and support other pre-training, post-training and day-of training event activities. The specialist plays an important role in ensuring that training participants have a smooth and successful learning experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serve as the primary resource for learning management system users, providing support for account creation and learner profile adjustments. Assist with maintaining up-to-date learning management system configurations including but not limited to; entering training sessions in the learning library and maintaining the master training schedule. (25%)
- Monitor registration numbers for each training session, collaborate with the Training Quality Coordinator to engage in promotional interventions to boost registration and training reach. Proactively support pre-training activities via direct communication with training participants/learners and post-training materials for each course in the learning management system. (15%)
- Assist with the collation of attendance reports for each training session, analyze attendance data to determine certificate eligibility and distribute certificates through the learning management system as needed. Engage in organized and timely record keeping to ensure the department is in compliance with state board continuing education certificate validation requirements. Interface with the learning management system, shared google drive record keeping and Zoom software. (18%)
- Provide specialized training support for select learning programs that have specific eligibility, pre-requisite or post-training requirements. Activities may include proctoring live virtual training to manage virtual chat, assist virtual learners through the waiting room and fielding training logistics on behalf of trainers. Validate minimum training requirements for certification and distribute coupon codes to over 3,000 unduplicated learners each year. Maintain certification minimum training requirement records. (15%)
- Collaborate with co-directors, the managing director and training quality coordinator to support the development of the annual master training schedule's end-to-end process from design/schedule development phase, through the live training phase. (10%)
- Provide timely learning management system support and technical assistance to learners. Provide coaching and troubleshooting specific to the learning management system for topics such as: creating and accessing individual learner accounts, navigating registration processes, locating and downloading training certificates. Support users in accessing the learning management system training library, certificate distribution, and the profile adjustment process. (15%)

University: Minimal contact with employees and others connected to university offices to exchange information.
External: Frequent contact with professional development participants and potential participants, and trainers to exchange information.
Students: No student contact expected.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience/Education: High School education and 4 years of relevant work experience OR Bachelor's degree and no experience required. Experience in a university or non-profit setting is preferred. Experience developing and maintaining databases, experience and/or familiarity with professional development infrastructure and support processes required.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Adobe, Qualtrics, Constant Contact and other software competencies in order to efficiently create and design communication materials.
- Familiarity with Learning Management System Software.
- Experience with database management and/or managing database configuration.
- Detail oriented, proficient and accurate data entry skills.
- Effective problem solving skills.
- Proficient with Zoom and other virtual platforms.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, both oral and written required.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to demonstrate successful support, education, and advocacy for all students, aligned with the values, mission, and messaging of the university, while adhering to the staff policy on conflict of commitment and interest.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Inherent in facilitating and coordinating virtual events during traditional and non-traditional work hours, this position will be flexible in location and include a mix of onsite and work from home opportunities. The employee will use a computer mouse and keyboard to type.
Hybrid Eligibility
This position is eligible for hybrid work arrangement up to two remote days per week at the discretion of the department. New employees may begin a hybrid schedule upon approval from the supervisor, successful completion of an orientation period and signing the remote work checklist certification form.
