About this role

Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Experience in administrative responsibilities in the sport of basketball (team scheduling, budget preparation & administration, facility usage, public relations, fundraising, community service, and other daily operations for the program) or as a college basketball player and/or coach (student experience may be considered).

Preferred Qualifications:
One (1) year of full time experience in administrative responsibilities in the sport of basketball (team scheduling, budget preparation & administration, facility usage, public relations, fundraising, community service, and other daily operations for the program) or as a college basketball player and/or coach (student experience may be considered). Previous experience with a Division I Athletic Program. Experience working with Financial Aid and/or Housing. Experience with supervision of student staff, interns, and/or graduate assistants. Understanding of NCAA Compliance Rules (played a Division I, II, or III sport, coached in collegiate athletics, or as a staff member in a collegiate athletic program).

Brief Description of Duties:
The Coordinator of Operation Women's Basketball is responsible for assisting in a variety of administrative tasks associated with the efficient operation of a Division I Women's basketball program. This position will report directly to the head women's basketball coach and will assist in communicating and coordinating with various athletic department staff members. The position will assist in coordinating team travel, scheduling of practices & facilities, official visits & recruiting records, fundraising initiatives, alumni events, ticket requests, housing, financial aid, video needs, operating budgets, equipment purchases & disbursement, camps & clinics, and academic success support of student-athletes for each program. In addition, this position will require travel with each team throughout the season and support team managers.

Business Operations

  • Assists with day-to-day team logistics by gathering receipts, tracking expenses against budget guidelines, and submitting purchase requests to the business office. Helps to organize team travel details by relaying itinerary information, verifying hotel and transportation reservations, and distributing meal allowances under supervisor direction. Supports equipment staff by receiving orders, tracking inventory counts, and helping hand out team gear.

Student-Athlete Skill Instruction/Team and Game Preparation

  • Support the program by assisting with year-round skill development, team practices, and conditioning sessions. Follows established coaching guidelines to help student-athletes practice fundamental skills and safe techniques. Assists head coach with game preparation by watching game film, helping gather details for scouting reports, and supporting team practice plans as directed.

Compliance/Financial Aid/Housing

  • Assists the Compliance Office with logging official and unofficial visits, processing complimentary ticket requests, and organizing standard travel arrangements. Supports daily recruiting administrative duties by tracking contacts, updating the team database, and coordinating basic on-campus visit logistics as directed. Helps to relay housing requests and works with financial aid staff to assist with the submission of initial grant-in-aid paperwork under supervisor direction.

Scheduling

  • Supports team operations by submitting practice facility requests and setting up court equipment for practices, shoot-arounds, and home games. Communicates practice schedules to support staff and assists senior staff with basic scheduling logistics, such as drafting game calendars and organizing opponent contact details as directed.

Academic Success of Student-Athletes

  • Work closely with the Student-Athlete Development staff to support the academic monitoring of women's basketball athletes. This includes providing team travel and practice schedules to notify professors of missed class dates, assisting with scheduling of classes and ensuring degree progression, monitoring student-athlete class attendance, supervising study hall as needed, and meeting frequently with student-athletes to discuss potential academic problems/difficulties.

Video Management

  • As allowable by the NCAA and CAA rules, the coordinator of operations will assist in handling all videotape needs for the Women's Basketball program. This includes coordinating tape exchange for conference and non-conference opponents, splicing game film, and making player cut-ups as directed.

Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.

Special Notes:
This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Non Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.

In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $4,000 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.

Essential Position: This has been designated as an essential position based on the duties of the job and the functions performed. Positions that are designated as such may be required to report to work/remain at work even if classes are canceled, and the campus is working on limited operations in an emergency.

Evening and weekend work will be required at times.
