WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Are you a talented marketing copywriter who brings a high level of creativity to everything you do? Would you enjoy inspiring 1.2 million Pacific Northwesterners to get out and explore? ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with Copywriter(s) to create and develop original copy that is on-target and embodies our brand voice.
- Writes copy for web, email, social, video, print and more, including marketing and sales materials as well as internal communications.
- Collaborates with graphic designers to create marketing and advertising solutions that communicate core ideas in a clear, effective manner.
- Works closely with internal stakeholders across departments (including product managers) to implement and support marketing initiatives.
- Works closely with the production manager and other creative team members to follow schedules and established formats.
- Regularly attends project and process-related meetings and contributes in a constructive manner.
- Proofreading of marketing materials.
- Contributes to a positive team dynamic through respectful interactions, positive contributions, and active collaboration to achieve department and organizational goals.
- Incorporates AAA’s vision, mission and values in day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivates others to remain committed to AAA’s vision mission and values.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- None
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Communication, Journalism, English , Marketing , Advertising, Creative Writing, or a related field
- Equivalent combinations of education, internships, freelance work, or relevant professional experience may be considered
- 0-2 years’ experience in copywriting and collaborating with writers, graphic designers, and art directors
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working at a creative agency or on an in-house creative team
- Internships, freelance, student portfolio, or agency experience preferred
- Experience writing for multiple channels such as digital, social media, email, web or print encouraged
- Familiarity with creative briefs
- Experience in project management
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- None
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Competence in Microsoft Office and navigating the internet
- Familiarity with MacOS and Mac hardware
- Ability to plan, write, and present target-specific copy.
- Ability to work with a creative team and use appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to avoid tension or conflict
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally verbally, visually or in writing, including effective use of listening skills; ability to convey ideas, results, issues, and recommendations in a clear, concise manner, appropriate for the intended audience.
- Ability to adjust style and approach to suit situations that involve rapidly changing tasks, shifting priorities, and simultaneous demands.
- Competency in proofreading and has some knowledge of style guides
- Ability to notice discrepancies and inconsistencies in available information.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Skilled in establishing rapport and gaining the trust of others.
SALARY:
- Hiring Range: $25.30/hour - $30.35/hour and is based on experience
- Opportunity for a discretionary bonus based on company performance

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Hybrid work schedule: work remotely most days, with one in-office day required per week (additional days required occasionally for special events/situations)
The physical environment is typical of a standard office space. It requires the employee to work inside for the duration of work. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, sitting for more than 50% of the time. This position will require occasionally moving about inside the office to access equipment, cabinets, etc. May work around office equipment which could be noisy, such as copiers and fax machines.
