What You’ll Do:
- The Corporate Accountant is responsible for the overall accuracy of the financials for corporate. This position will require strong working knowledge of all business units within Wallick to effectively produce financial results.
What We’re Looking For:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting and 1 – 3 years previous accounting or finance experience.
- Intermediate knowledge of accounting is required.
- Should be familiar with some type of automated accounting software preferably Yardi, in addition to Microsoft Office software.
- Should be proficient with Microsoft Office software including excel.
- Must possess effective communication skills.
- Must be able to respond to inquiries from co-workers and auditors.
Functions and Responsibilities:
- Apply accounting principles to review, analyze, interpret financial statements: cash flow, income statements and balance sheets for all corporate accounts.
- Perform all accounting entries, analyze financial information, and prepare reconciliations for all corporate balance sheet accounts.
- Perform all accounting entries, analyze financial information for all income statement accounts across all corporate business units.
- Maintain accurate general ledger, reconcile bank accounts, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile balance sheet items, explain balances to operations when necessary, and make corrections when necessary.
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with U.S. GAAP policies and procedures and HUD rules.
- Ensure accuracy of revenue and expense
- Prepare preliminary documentation for annual audits. Coordinate and lend assistance to the audit process.
- Complete reporting required by government agencies, administrators or the Company as required.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts for involving most recently audited fiscal year, current year activity, and property budget for upcoming fiscal year.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
