About the Department

Position Duties

This role focuses on promoting Correctional Industries products, building customer relationships, and supporting sales and marketing activities.  Your work will involve traveling throughout the assigned territory, preparing materials, gathering customer feedback, and coordinating with CI shops and central office staff.  As a Correctional Industries Sales and Marketing Representative, you will perform the following duties:


  • Customer Outreach: Establish contacts with institutions, agencies, schools, and local governments to promote CI products
  • Product Promotion: Conduct presentations, attend conferences, and distribute catalogs, samples, and brochures
  • Communication Support: Prepare reports, scheduling calendars, and correspondence about activities and customer needs
  • Shop Coordination: Visit CI shops, act as liaison, and relay customer feedback regarding product quality and delivery
  • Sales Assistance: Prepare quotes, process orders, answer inquiries, and follow up on issues or concerns
  • Territory Management: Maintain customer records, follow performance standards, and care for assigned vehicle and supplies

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours/week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • This position requires daily travel. 
  • When necessary to report to the office, the selected applicant will be assigned to report to the nearest State Correctional Institution (SCI) with availability.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of professional sales experience in a manufacturing or service oriented production operation, and a bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, business administration, or a closely related area; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must reside in or be willing to relocate to one of the following counties: Bradford, Carbon, Lackawanna, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Northampton, Pike, Schuylkill, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Wayne, or Wyoming. 
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
