Description of Work
Reporting to the Warden I, this position will direct the Programs Department for the rehabilitation & reentry of male offenders in a minimum custody correctional facility. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:1. Functioning as an assistant to the Warden I of the correctional center while offering a variety of Programs services to the offender population.
2. Directing a major program in an area or on a statewide basis. The primary programs areas are offender classification, correctional programs (adult basic education, incentive wage, recreation, religion, and volunteer programs), and supportive counseling.
3. Supervising subordinate personnel who are responsible for the daily implementation, development, and maintenance of the programs.
4. Performing other duties as needed.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the Minimum Education and Experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/Management Preferences are not required but applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
Documented experience with report writing.
Documented knowledge of case management practices, or supportive counseling techniques and/or interviewing techniques for intake assessments.

Salary Range: $43,267 - $75,718

This Is An Internal Posting Open Only For Current North Carolina Department Of Adult Corrections Employees, And Eligible State Government Reduction in Force (RIF) Candidates From North Carolina State Government, or Current Temporary Employees.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with established working hours of Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm and may require working beyond normal work schedule to meet business need.
About Randolph Correctional Center
Randolph Correctional Center is a 226-bed minimum custody male facility located in Asheboro, NC, Randolph County. Randolph Community College works with the prison to provide adult education and preparation for GED test for offenders. Offenders may also be assigned to work in various capacities, such as a maintenance worker, librarian, recreation clerk, barber, canteen operator, or as clothes house or kitchen help at the prison.
