Reporting to the Director of Culinary R&D Operations, you will work with a culinary team at The Cheesecake Factory corporate support center in Calabasas Hills, CA. You'll play an integral part in supporting the research and development for a global $3.8 billion public company with over 350 full-service restaurants and more than 49,000 staff members.

  • Prepare, cook, and plate a variety of food items while maintaining a clean, organized, and detail-oriented kitchen environment.
  • Partner closely with the Culinary Research & Development team to support menu innovation, recipe development, and new dish creation.
  • Scale recipes, mix ingredients, and assist with testing and refining new product concepts from ideation through execution.
  • Maintain kitchen facilities, equipment, and storage areas to ensure they are safe, sanitary, and ready for daily operations.
  • Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and quality standards to support a best-in-class culinary development process.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable food handling regulations, health codes, and company policies.
  • Support culinary team projects by assisting with product evaluations, ingredient preparation, and operational execution of research and development initiatives.
  • Take pride in maintaining a well-organized workspace that fosters creativity, efficiency, and collaboration.
  • Minimum of six months of experience in a similar role within a scratch-kitchen or scratch-cooking restaurant environment.
  • Working knowledge of recipe scaling, weights and measures, ingredient volumes, and fundamental cooking techniques.
  • Understanding of food safety, sanitation standards, and best practices for handling and storing food products.
  • Proficiency in knife handling, including the ability to identify and execute a variety of knife cuts safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods, as well as lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid California Food Handler Card, or the ability to obtain one as required.
