• Perform general duties including sweep, mop, vacuum, wax, and polish VCT floors with floor machines; dust and clean furniture, walls, rails, windows, sills, and blinds; empty waste baskets, remove refuse and trash up to 25 pounds from building; clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms; move furniture as needed to accomplish assigned duties.
• Assist with indoor and outdoor special set-ups and break-downs for classes or functions on campus.
• Respond to emergency clean-ups as needed; assist with Facilities, Operations, and Maintenance Department functions and activities as needed; other duties as required by supervisor.

• Completion of ninth grade.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, such as reaching, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling while performing cleaning duties.

• Knowledge of the practices and procedures of custodial work.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Work well independently or in a team environment.

During the first three months, the custodian will receive structured, hands-on training to build familiarity with the campus, tools, and safety procedures. The selected candidate will work closely with their supervisor. By the end of the first 90 days, the custodian is expected to be confident in navigating campus facilities, performing routine cleaning procedures, and contributing independently to the department's work while continuing to develop advanced skills.

This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 2pm to 10pm.

This position is located in Panama City, Florida.

This position will begin in Winter 2026 or earlier.
