About this role
The purpose of the custodial work occupation is to maintain clean environment in which employees may work & clients may live.
Under immediate supervision of Building Maintenance Supervisor, routinely cleans and maintains offices, break rooms boiler rooms, shower rooms and restrooms (e.g., dusts, sweeps, mops, strips, washes and buffs floors; vacuums and shampoos carpets; scrubs sinks, toilets, countertops, walls and ceilings, etc.). Replenishes soap, paper towels and toilet tissue; washes and/or polishes windows, sanitize drinking fountains, clean partition walls/dividers, mirrors and glass; dusts, polishes and cleans furniture and equipment. Employee shall maintain custodial closets with equipment and stock as needed at every facility on base. Daily washing/ drying of custodial items to include rags, mops etc.
Performs custodial duties as assigned (e.g., trash removal indoors and outdoors including recycle containers to central collection on base; replaces light bulbs; minor painting; adjustment of hinges; replace shower heads and misc. bath items and latches; inventory and order and/or stocks supplies with the sourcing analyst; maintains cleaning tools and equipment secures doors and windows; etc.). Performs general groundskeeping maintenance (e. g., mows grass, rakes leaves, and trims hedges; shovels snow from walks, driveways, and parking areas; operates vehicle with mounted snow plow or rtv ; etc.). Checks basic safety controls on the heating/air conditioning system and reports malfunctions or need for professional mechanical assistance to supervisor. Reports necessary repair of buildings and facilities to supervisor.
Performs other related duties as assigned (e.g., travels to attend meetings, conferences, and trainings; operates personal computer to produce correspondence, reports, and other documents; maintains logs, records, and files).
Unusual Working Conditions:
May be exposed to high & low temperatures; may be exposed to weather.
