This is an exciting, opportunity to join our team at the California Science Center (CSC), a world-class science museum, that develops and features award-winning exhibits and internationally renowned education programs. The Science Center's workforce includes executive, managerial, supervisory, and administrative classifications, however, rank and file facility maintenance and skilled trades represent approximately fifty-one percent (51%) of its civil service workforce. We are seeking a Custodian Supervisor I to join our day shift team.
The duties of the Custodian Supervisor I include, but are not limited to, coordinating and leading the activities of a crew of 5-7 Custodian I staff, including maintaining and cleaning offices, restrooms, buildings, and other assigned areas, ensuring all assigned areas are clean and orderly throughout State property; and operating a variety of cleaning tools and equipment. The Custodian Supervisor I is the first point of contact for all personnel related tasks, including timekeeping, performance management, health and safety, and training.

Please note: In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This program temporarily reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The salary ranges shown on this job posting do not reflect the salary reduction.
