About this role
Accenture Federal Services supports the U.S. federal government through technology and cybersecurity solutions for defense, national security, public safety, civilian, and military health organizations. The Cyber Analyst will support federal cybersecurity assessments, vulnerability analysis, documentation, risk analysis, remediation, and stakeholder engagement using established frameworks and modern security tools.
What you'll do:
- Support cybersecurity assessments aligned to federal frameworks such as NIST 800‑series, FISMA, and OMB guidance
- Conduct vulnerability scanning, analysis, and POA&M updates using industry tools and AI-enabled GRC platforms
- Assist in drafting and maintaining cybersecurity documentation (SSPs, SOPs, policies, baselines)
- Analyze threats, risks, and system weaknesses to inform remediation activities
- Participate in stakeholder engagement, communications, and change-management efforts supporting cyber initiatives
What they're looking for:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in STEM or adjacent field, such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering (Systems, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical), with graduation by August 31, 2027
- Strong academic track record (3.2+ cumulative GPA) from a 4-year accredited institution
- U.S. citizenship required (due to federal contract requirements)
- Applicants for employment in the US must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States
- Ability to travel 25-50% preferred, but requirements vary by team and location
- Foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts (e.g., threats and security frameworks); strong networking fundamentals and deep understanding of how operating systems work
- Technical aptitude with interest in learning cyber tools, security automation, and emerging technologies
- Clear communicator who can translate technical details into business-friendly language
- Familiarity with using AI tools to research and solve business and technology challenges
