Cyber Security Engineer

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join its cybersecurity team. The role focuses on designing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining secure network infrastructures and security tooling across on-premises and cloud environments, while identifying and mitigating cyber threats and documenting security findings.

What you'll do:

• Design, implement, and maintain network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and NAC
• Monitor network traffic and security logs for anomalies and potential threats
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks
• Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and best practices
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to enhance overall security posture
• Maintain and Setup Security tooling both on prem and in the Cloud environment
• Maintain and configure security tools such as SIEM, EDR, and DLP solutions
• Stay updated with emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies
• Document security incidents, findings, and mitigation strategies

What they're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 1+ years of experience in network security, cybersecurity or IT security roles
• Masters degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• JD/PhD
• In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in network security, cybersecurity or IT security
• In order to be considered for this position, you must be a US Citizen
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS technologies
• Experience with security tools such as EDR, SIEM, NDR, Forensic Tooling, Firewalls
• Understanding of network security frameworks such as NIST, CIS Controls, and ISO27001
• Certifications such as CCNP Security, CISSP, CEH, or GIAC
• Experience with cloud security in AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation
• Knowledge of zero-trust architecture and secure network design principles
