Cyber Security Engineer Intern

Tencent is an international technology company whose Overseas IT team supports global business growth through IT services, AI infrastructure, security, cloud, and DevOps. The Cyber Security Engineer Intern will assist with security infrastructure, SaaS platform and identity management operations, DevOps and observability initiatives, security operations, threat monitoring, and data pipeline development.

What you'll do:

• Support the operations and security of SaaS platforms and services used across Tencent
• Contribute to identity and access management (IAM) systems and integrations
• Work on user authentication, and authorization solutions
• Contribute to deployment pipelines and system reliability
• Work with monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
• Develop automation and tooling for operational tasks
• Support incident response and system troubleshooting
• Contribute to security operations and threat monitoring
• Develop data ingestion, processing, or analytics systems
• Work with data storage, querying, and real-time data flows at scale

What they're looking for:

• **1. Education:** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (recent graduates preferred)
• Proficient with at least one programming language (Python, Go, Java, C++, etc.)
• Comfortable with Linux/Unix command line and shell scripting
• Understanding of fundamental data structures, algorithms, and system design concepts
• Ability to read code, debug issues, and understand software architecture
• Basic understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and system architecture
• Familiarity with containerization concepts (Docker) or virtualization
• Understanding of networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS)
• Exposure to monitoring, logging, or operational concepts
• Ability to decompose problems, research solutions, and debug systematically
• Comfortable with ambiguity; willing to learn new tools and technologies quickly
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
