Cyber Security Intern 2027

Devon Energy is an energy company seeking a Cyber Security Intern to join its Digital Security team. The intern will analyze security problems, support information security activities, and contribute to incident response, risk management, cloud security, threat intelligence, and cross-functional security projects.

What you'll do:

• Collaborate with Digital Security team members and business stakeholders to understand security requirements, risks, and objectives
• Analyze security problems, gather requirements, and help determine and implement solutions
• Support Information Assurance activities — assessing controls, policies, and compliance
• Assist with Incident Response — monitoring, triage, investigation, and documentation of security events
• Contribute to Risk Management — identifying, assessing, and helping track and remediate risks
• Support Cloud Security efforts across Devon's cloud environments
• Assist with Threat Intelligence — researching threats, indicators, and emerging attack trends
• Participate in team meetings and cross-functional projects to gain exposure to security operations and technology strategies
• Learn and apply best practices in security operations, data protection, and governance
• Stay current with emerging security technologies and threat trends through active learning and professional development

What they're looking for:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
• * Basic understanding of information security concepts and principles
• * Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
• * Ability to analyze problems, gather requirements, and implement solutions
• * Effective oral and written communication skills
• * Interest in cybersecurity and technology-driven solutions

• * Digital literacy and attention to detail
• Full-time student enrollment
• Pursuing a degree in information security, information technology, management information systems, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field
• GPA 3.0 or higher
