Cybersecurity - 2027 Summer Internship

General Dynamics Electric Boat is a defense company that designs and builds submarines for the U.S. Navy while maintaining high cybersecurity standards across its systems, networks, and operations. The Cybersecurity Summer Intern will support the evaluation, development, and maintenance of IT technologies, monitor systems for vulnerabilities, assist with risk and compliance assessments, and support cybersecurity operations.

What you'll do:

• Assist with developing and maintaining security plan documentation
• Monitoring and analyzing user and system activity
• Supporting incident response activities
• Working closely with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM), Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and/or Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC) personnel as well as other system stakeholders

What they're looking for:

• Pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Science in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• US citizenship is required
• Must be enrolled full-time at a college or university
• At minimum students must have completed their Freshman year prior to the start of the internship
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week for a minimum eight (8) consecutive weeks between May 2027 to September 2027
• Selected candidates will be responsible for establishing housing and reliable transportation for the duration of their intern assignment
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively work both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to learn new skills and apply them
• Ability to solve problems in a constructive manner
• Strong interpersonal skills
