About this role
Amrize is a building solutions company focused on innovative and sustainable cement, aggregates, asphalt, concrete products, and construction services. The Cybersecurity/IT Intern will support enterprise security operations through threat monitoring, vendor coordination, vulnerability and patch tracking, security documentation, and a cybersecurity capstone project, while presenting outcomes to security and leadership teams.
What you'll do:
- Cyber Operations & Monitoring: Assist senior analysts in reviewing security alerts, reviewing log data from our monitoring tools, and documenting preliminary findings
- Vendor Engagement & Support: Shadow team members during meetings with external security vendors, help track vendor deliverables, and assist in compiling data for third-party risk reviews
- Vulnerability & Patch Coordination: Help track routine vulnerability scan results and assist in coordinating with internal teams to verify that necessary security patches are applied
- Security Documentation & Policies: Support the maintenance of security incident playbooks, network documentation, and vendor contact registries to keep our security operations organized
- Safety Protocols: Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors
- Special Projects & Skill Growth: Take ownership of a capstone project (e.g., building a threat intelligence report, updating phishing training materials, or evaluating a vendor tool) tailored to your specific cybersecurity career interests
- Executive Presentation: At the end of your internship, you will present your key learnings, project outcomes, and growth areas to our security and leadership team
What they're looking for:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or similar
- Strong academic performance with a solid understanding of IT and computing priciples
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- High energy and a proactive approach to tackling new challenges
- A team player who can collaborate across different levels of the organization
- This is a hybrid role with a mandatory 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, working an 8-hour shift each day
- This role will be based out of the Downtown Chicago Office
- Interns are responsible for their own transportation to and from their worksites
- Throughout the internship, you may need to travel to other sites for tours, shadowing experiences, or intern events
