About this role

Trident Seafoods is a vertically integrated seafood company committed to responsibly harvesting, processing, and sharing wild Alaska seafood. The Cybersecurity Intern will support vulnerability management, governance, risk management, compliance, policy maintenance, security awareness, risk assessments, regulatory research, and security remediation activities.

What you'll do:

  • Assists in maintaining the cybersecurity policy, standard, and process library, including formatting, version control, review tracking, and routing documents through the approval cycle
  • Supports control assessments and gap analyses against the NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0 and related control families (e.g., Awareness and Training, Personnel Security, Program Management)
  • Supports risk assessments, including reviewing security questionnaires, summarizing findings, and maintaining the vendor assessment tracker
  • Contributes to the security awareness and training program through content development, phishing simulation reporting, and campaign metrics
  • Builds and maintains compliance dashboards, trackers, and metrics reporting for leadership
  • Researches regulatory and framework developments (e.g., NIST, NIS2, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA privacy regulations) and summarizes potential impacts for the team
  • Coordinates with departments to ensure follow up and remediation of penetration test findings
  • Works with IT to assist in patch management and remediation of known vulnerabilities

What they're looking for:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, Risk Management, Business, or a related field
  • Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity governance, risk, compliance, audit, or policy through coursework, certifications, clubs, competitions, or personal study
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail, with the ability to produce clear, well-organized documentation
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment
  • Available to work at least 20 hours per week during the internship term
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to track multiple concurrent workstreams and deadlines
  • Analytical mindset with an ability to review information critically, spot inconsistencies, and ask clarifying questions
  • Self-directed and comfortable taking broad direction and working toward a defined outcome with periodic check-ins
  • Collaborative and professional in cross-functional settings
  • Eagerness to learn, accept feedback, and apply it
