Cybersecurity, Risk & Digital Trust - Summer 2027 Internship Pathway

Lumen is hiring interns for its Cybersecurity, Risk & Digital Trust summer pathway. Interns may support cybersecurity, governance, privacy, compliance, and risk assignments that protect information and operations, strengthen safeguards, and support responsible technology use.

What you'll do:

• Support initiatives designed to protect systems, networks, information, customers, and business operations
• Analyze business or technology risks and help evaluate controls that reduce exposure
• Assist with governance, compliance, privacy, policy, audit, or regulatory activities
• Contribute to assessments, investigations, testing, or reviews that strengthen security and enterprise resilience
• Help teams balance innovation with accountability through responsible AI, data governance, and digital trust practices

What they're looking for:

• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
• Curiosity and a desire to understand risks, controls, and how systems work
• Attention to detail, integrity, and sound judgment
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Comfort navigating ambiguity, complex requirements, and sensitive information
• Interest in cybersecurity, risk, governance, privacy, law, policy, compliance, or technology ethics
• Initiative, adaptability, and a growth mindset
• You must be enrolled at an accredited college or university at the time of the internship
• We primarily seek rising seniors graduating between August 2027 and June 2028; students graduating in 2029 may also be considered
• Students from a variety of academic backgrounds may be a strong fit, including:
• Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Information Technology, or Computer Science
• Risk Management, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Information Systems
