D&IT Intern, Analyst, Manufacturing AI/ML - Summer 2027

Corning Incorporated is a materials science and technology company whose global Information Technology function supports business strategy, applications, infrastructure, and process integration. The D&IT Intern will support modern data engineering solutions for manufacturing, quality, engineering, analytics, and AI/ML initiatives by developing data pipelines, preparing enterprise-scale datasets, supporting cloud platforms, and creating dashboards.

What you'll do:

• Develop and maintain data pipelines using Python, SQL, and PySpark
• Extract, transform, validate, and prepare data for analytics and reporting
• Support Databricks and cloud-based data engineering projects
• Build dashboards and data visualizations to communicate insights
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders
• Document solutions and present project results at the end of the internship

What they're looking for:

• Student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
• Understanding of databases, data structures, problem-solving techniques, communication, and teamwork
• Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2027 (May-August 2027) with a graduation date of December 2027 or later
• Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity
• Be willing to work at the posted job location

• Familiarity with PySpark or Apache Spark, Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, AWS, or other cloud platforms
• Interest in data engineering, analytics, manufacturing, and AI/ML
