About this role
Eviction Defense Collaborative, Inc. provides legal assistance, rental assistance, and supportive services to San Francisco tenants facing eviction or housing instability. The Data Analyst supports data accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and reporting readiness by reviewing records, coordinating corrections, preparing funder reporting data, and identifying process improvements.
What you'll do:
- Review assigned program and LSO reports for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and reporting readiness
- Monitor required MOHCD and funder data elements, including required data points, representation activities on open cases, and outcomes on closed cases
- Identify missing, incomplete, inaccurate, duplicate, or untimely records and document follow-up needs
- Communicate professionally with EDC staff and assigned LSOs regarding missing or corrected data
- Make approved data corrections directly when appropriate and within established guidelines
- Escalate unresolved, significant, or recurring data issues to the Data Supervisor
- Download, validate, and prepare monthly data extracts from partner LSOs and EDC programs for funder reporting
- Assist with preparation of data for upload to GMS and other funder portal sites
- Check reports throughout the month so that missing data can be addressed before submission deadlines
- Support audit preparation, contract monitoring, and funder reporting reviews by ensuring records are accurate and upload ready
- Maintain tracking materials, checklists, and documentation related to reporting deadlines and correction follow-up
- Identify recurring data quality issues, reporting deficiencies, and timeliness concerns across assigned programs and LSOs
What they're looking for:
- Experience working with databases, spreadsheets, reports, case management systems, or other structured data sources
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (data management, formulas & functions, reporting and analysis and others)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to review large amounts of information for accuracy and completeness
- Ability to follow established procedures, use checklists, and meet recurring reporting deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to follow up professionally regarding missing or corrected information
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, track outstanding items, and escalate issues appropriately
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and care
- Strong data review, problem-solving, and investigative skills
- Strong organization, follow-through, and deadline-management skills
- Ability to learn Salesforce reports, filters, fields, and related data structures
- Ability to run existing reports and, over time, modify report filters, columns, and formats as needed
Benefits:
- This is a hybrid role. Employees may be able to work from home two (2) regularly scheduled days a week after thirty (30) days of employment.
