About this role

The University of Alabama is seeking a Data Analyst I to support UA Athletics' data management and analytics efforts. The role gathers, audits, analyzes, and reports data; develops business intelligence solutions, dashboards, and automated reporting; and delivers actionable insights to support decision-making across ticketing, marketing, and operational areas.

What you'll do:

  • The Data Analyst I gathers, audits, analyzes, and reports low- to moderate-complexity data under general supervision
  • Ensures data integrity
  • May perform ad-hoc analyses and reporting to inform decision-making, or design predictive modeling or other data mining capabilities
  • Supports UA Athletics' data management and analytics efforts by building and maintaining business intelligence solutions and delivering actionable insights across ticketing, marketing, and operational areas
  • Assists with reporting automation, dashboard development, and analytics
  • Ensures data quality
  • Adheres to institutional security and governance policies and procedures
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to enhance decision-making and improve organizational performance

  • Bachelor's degree or higher and some data analysis experience
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, narrative driven presentations that inform leadership decision making
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business, economics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, information systems, or another related field
  • Experience using SQL for data management
  • Experience using Python and/or R for data analysis
  • Experience using Tableau and/or comparable BI tools for data visualization
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, ticketing platforms, and large-scale consumer datasets
  • Experience with Snowflake
  • Experience in college athletics (internship or full-time)
