Data Analyst - Student Employee

Illinois State University is seeking a Data Analyst Student Employee to support its Enterprise Data & Analytics team. The role assists with data analysis, data warehouse development, business intelligence assignments, data validation, quality assurance, reporting, dashboard creation, and identifying trends and insights for business objectives.

What you'll do:

• The Data Analyst Student Employee is responsible for assisting with data analysis, data warehouse development, and business intelligence assignments
• The student will aid with collecting, analyzing, validating, and interpreting data from various sources to support reporting, operational initiatives, and strategic projects
• Responsibilities may include performing data quality assurance testing, validating data against business requirements, identifying, and resolving data discrepancies, documenting processes, creating dashboards and reports, and helping uncover trends and insights that support business objectives
• The role will work closely with data warehouse developers, data scientists, business intelligence analysts, business stakeholders, and other members of the Enterprise Data & Analytics team to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of enterprise data assets

• 2. Demonstrated experience with data reporting tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, and/or Cognos
• 3. Demonstrated experience with statistical analysis and understanding of appropriate statistical methodologies
• 4. Familiarity with data governance concepts
