About this role
Moody's Corporation is a global leader in ratings and integrated risk assessment that is advancing AI to help clients navigate uncertainty. The Data Analyst Summer Intern will support data integrity across Cloud & Network Infrastructure by documenting data structures, mapping data feeds, reconciling sources, analyzing infrastructure data, and building reports and dashboards.
What you'll do:
- Support complete data integrity across Cloud & Network Infrastructure by documenting data structures, mapping data feeds, and reconciling sources
- Document and publish data structures (schemas, field definitions, and relationships) for infrastructure and asset data, communicating them clearly across teams
- Learn and map how data feeds operate between systems such as DataMart, NetBox, ServiceNow's CMDB, and LogicMonitor, including how data is captured, transformed, and synchronized
- Perform data reconciliation across these systems to compare values for the same assets, highlight discrepancies, and resolve them to prevent drift between data sources
- Collect, clean, and analyze infrastructure and asset data, prioritizing and fixing the most significant data quality issues to support the team's goal of complete data integrity
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports that track key metrics such as system performance, vulnerabilities, connectivity, and cost
- Partner with team members to gather reporting requirements and translate raw data into clear, actionable insights
- Present findings and recommendations to team members and stakeholders in a clear, concise manner
- Create or enhance standards and procedures documentation to support consistent, repeatable data processes across the team
- Support ad hoc data requests and special projects as assigned by the team
What they're looking for:
- • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables, to organize and analyze operational data; required
- • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail, critical to identifying and resolving data discrepancies; required
- • Effective written and verbal communication skills to document and communicate data structures and findings to technical and non-technical audiences; required
- • Familiarity with prompt engineering to use AI tools efficiently for completing tasks and troubleshooting data quality issues; required
- • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
- • Currently pursuing a degree in a STEM field, such as Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or another quantitative discipline
- • Graduation date between December 2027 - June 2029
- • Availability to work the internship dates: June 7 - August 13, 2027
- • Working knowledge of SQL or another query language to extract, compare, and reconcile data across multiple systems; preferred
- • Familiarity with data visualization or business intelligence tools to present findings clearly; preferred
- • Exposure to IT asset management or configuration management database (CMDB) tools; preferred
- • General understanding of cloud computing or network infrastructure concepts; preferred but not required
Benefits:
- Networking, mentorship, leadership speaker series and volunteering events.
