About this role
Sysco is a leader in the foodservice industry offering a 10-week paid summer internship program that provides students with real-world experience. The Data Analytics Intern will complete meaningful projects, develop data and analytics skills, and support business initiatives through training, mentorship, research, and problem-solving.
What you'll do:
- As an intern, you are exposed to relevant projects and challenges in a dynamic environment

- Develop an understanding of the Sysco approach, methodology, and tools
- Identify various business issues, and provide solutions via research
- Establish working relationships with client personnel

- Ability to manage competing priorities, handle multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity in a matrix organization
- Ability to analyze complex issues, reason, think critically, and synthesize information

What they're looking for:
- This is a hybrid position located in Houston. Candidates will be local to the Greater Houston area. Relocation is not available
- Students pursuing a Bachelor's degree with concentrations in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, or related field
- Strong academic credentials (Minimum GPA of 3.0)
- SQL/Python experience
- Proven leadership and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities, handle multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity in a matrix organization
- Ability to analyze complex issues, reason, think critically, and synthesize information
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at various levels
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
