About this role
Ameritas Life Insurance Corp provides financial products and guidance, including insurance, retirement planning, investments, and wealth management services. The Data Analytics – Business Intelligence Intern will process and analyze datasets, develop and maintain business intelligence reports and dashboards, collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams, troubleshoot data issues, and document processes.
What you'll do:
- Process and analyze datasets to support business stakeholders
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Business intelligence tools like Power BI and Cognos
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs, use cases and propose solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve data issues as they arise
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and IT admin teams as needed to ensure data and reporting tasks are completed on time
- Contribute to the documentation of processes and procedures
What they're looking for:
- Must be enrolled in a college program at least half-time as defined by your institution for the entire duration of the internship studying computer science, data science, data analytics, or a related field
- Able to commit to a long-term internship working full-time in the summer and part-time during the school year
- Full-time hours 30-40 hours per week during summer months
- Part-time hours 15-20 hours per week during school year
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and a professional, self-directed approach to assigned responsibilities required
- Ability to meet deadlines required
- Keen analytical skills and problem-solving skills are required
- Strong PC and Excel skills required
- Completed coursework in topics related to data management, databases, AI/Machine Learning, and similar subject matter desired
- Natural curiosity and willingness to learn new tools and technologies desired
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills are desired
- Intermediate to advanced experience with SQL is strongly desired
