Data Analytics Intern + Summer 2027

Lutz is a business solutions firm providing advisory and compliance services across accounting, financial, technology, M&A, and talent. The Data Analytics Intern will create and manage relational databases, query data to identify insights, map client data flows, build visualizations and dashboards, and potentially develop solutions using automation and machine learning tools.

What you'll do:

• Create and manage relational database stores and optimize database design
• Query data sets of various sizes to discover patterns and insights
• Understand relationships between client data sources and mapping data flows
• Visualize data or create visual dashboards using tools like Power BI
• Potentially develop business solutions leveraging automation, visualization, and machine learning tools, and understanding how these integrate into client infrastructure

What they're looking for:

• Strong academic credentials with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (data analytics or other related majors preferred)
• Relevant work experience including summer positions and/or school jobs
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills around applying technical solutions to collect, consolidate, cleanse, and analyze relational and/or disparate data
• Relational database understanding and ability to query the data (a big plus)
• Experience with data visualization software (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.)
• Familiarity with analytics tools and languages such as SQL, Python, R, Java, C#, SAS, and environments like Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills
• Sophomore standing or above
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (not required, but a plus)
