Data Intern

Hilltop Securities Inc. is seeking a qualified student to join its IT Enterprise Data team as a Summer Intern. The role provides hands-on information technology experience while supporting reporting, dashboard development, data integration, data warehouse requirements, data integrity, software evaluation, and data analytics initiatives.

What you'll do:

• Help develop reports, wire frames for dashboards, Power BI dashboards and data analysis
• Create data integrations utilizing Microsoft Data Factory
• Support the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements
• Support initiatives for data integrity and normalization
• Assess tests and implement new or upgraded software and assisting with strategic decisions on new systems
• Generate reports from single or multiple systems
• Participate in agile scrum stand up sessions daily as a team member
• Other duties as assigned or required as well as found interest in the data analytics areas

What they're looking for:

• Experience with SQL or Python
• Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
• Proven self-starter who can initiate tasks and follow up to completion
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills
• Candidate MUST have authorization to work for any employer in the US without requiring sponsorship, whether in student status or not
• Junior or Senior standing student pursuing a degree in a relevant discipline preferred
• Experience in Power BI or Tableau a plus
