About this role

## Primary Responsibilities - Support development and maintenance of data pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver data to Splunk and analytics platforms - Write and maintain Python scripts to process log, metric, and event data - Assist with data validation, normalization, and enrichment to improve data quality and usability - Support onboarding of new data sources from infrastructure, applications, and network systems - Assist with building dashboards and visualizations that consume pipeline-produced data - Perform analysis, trending, and exploratory data analysis to identify insights and anomalies - Collaborate with Splunk developers, SREs, and operations teams to understand data requirements - Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily scrums, sprint planning, and retrospectives - Contribute to backlog items, technical documentation, and process improvements - Work with a geographically distributed (remote) team ## Basic Qualifications - Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field. - Experience with Python programming - Coursework or hands-on experience with data processing or data pipelines - Familiarity with structured or semi-structured data (e.g., JSON, CSV, log files) - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to work collaboratively and learn in a fast-paced technical environment - Holds or has ability to obtain a Secret Level security clearance - US citizenship required - GPA of 3.0 or higher ## Preferred Qualifications - Exposure to Splunk or other log analytics / observability platforms - Experience with data visualization tools or libraries (e.g., Splunk dashboards, matplotlib, Plotly, Power BI, Tableau) - Familiarity with REST APIs and data ingestion patterns - Exposure to Linux environments or command-line tooling - Experience with version control systems such as Git - Familiarity with Agile development and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps - Interest in data engineering, site reliability engineering (SRE), or observability platforms - Security+ certification or interest in pursuing DoD-aligned certifications
