Data & QA Analyst — Impact Investing

Carnelian is seeking a Data & QA Analyst with an interest in impact investing, ESG, sustainability, and related financial or social-impact research. The role focuses on validating financial and impact data, testing analytical methodologies, performing quality assurance on outputs, and improving data-quality processes.

What you'll do:

• Review and validate financial, ESG, impact, and organizational data
• Assess the quality, completeness, and consistency of collected information
• Support the development and testing of analytical and scoring methodologies
• Identify data issues, inconsistencies, edge cases, and areas requiring further research
• Perform quality assurance on analytical outputs, reports, and datasets
• Develop test cases and benchmark examples for validating data and analytical processes
• Support ongoing improvements to data standards and quality-control procedures
• Work closely with research and technical teams to investigate and resolve data-quality issues
• Document findings, assumptions, and quality-control results
