Data Science & Analytics Intern - Fall 2026

Phoenix Contact is a global technology leader where interns work on real business challenges impacting customers, products, and operations. The Data Science & Analytics Intern will support strategic initiatives across Product Management, Operations, Sales, and Marketing by analyzing data, building dashboards and predictive models, and presenting recommendations to stakeholders.

What you'll do:

• Meet with Product Management, Operations, Manufacturing, Sales, or AEP teams to understand business challenges and decision-making needs
• Analyze customer, product, pricing, operations, supply chain, and financial data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities
• Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical approaches
• Work directly with leadership and subject matter experts to understand product portfolios, operational processes, and customer dynamics
• Build dashboards, predictive models, business cases, and executive-level recommendations
• Present findings, risks, and recommended actions to stakeholders
• Data mining and exploration
• Statistical analysis
• Predictive modeling
• Data cleansing and transformation
• AI-assisted analytics and automation
• Develop Power BI dashboards and self-service reporting tools

What they're looking for:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in: + Data Science + Analytics + Computer Science + Information Systems + Artificial Intelligence + Industrial Engineering + Statistics + Applied Mathematics + Business Analytics
• Advanced Excel skills including Power Query, Pivot Tables, and data modeling
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy, or similar BI platforms
• Strong SQL and database fundamentals
• Experience using AI productivity and analysis tools (Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills
• Ability to translate business problems into analytical solutions
• Comfortable presenting insights and recommendations to business stakeholders
• Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn products, markets, and operational processes quickly
• Look at a computer screen for extended periods of time (up to 4 hours)
• Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time (2-4 hours at a time)
• Commute to Middletown, PA office
