Data Scientist

BAL is seeking a Data Scientist to support its Business Intelligence and Insights Team. The role develops predictive models, statistical analyses, forecasts, data models, and AI-enabled solutions to improve decision-making, operational efficiency, talent planning, client service, and financial outcomes. The position also translates business requirements and complex analytical findings into actionable recommendations while partnering with internal analytics and governance teams.

What you'll do:

• Develop predictive models, statistical analyses, and forecast solutions to support business objectives
• Identify trends, patterns, opportunities, and risks within large and complex datasets
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover actionable insights and business recommendations
• Design and implement methodologies for measuring business performance and operational effectiveness
• Utilize advanced statistical techniques to solve complex business problems
• Build and maintain analytical models supporting firm operations, financial performance, staffing, client service, and practice group initiatives
• Develop and optimize data models using data sourced from Cobalt and other enterprise systems
• Evaluate emerging analytical tools, machine learning, and artificial intelligence technologies
• Develop reusable analytical frameworks, tools, and methodologies that support scalable analytics across the firm
• Collaborate with internal teams to establish best practices for advanced analytics and model development
• Explore, develop, and implement AI-enabled solutions that improve business decision-making and operational efficiency
• Leverage Python and Agentic AI technologies to automate analytical workflows and accelerate insight generation

What they're looking for:

• ▪ Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Analytics, or related discipline
• ▪ 1-3 years of experience in advanced analytics, data science, business intelligence, or related disciplines
• ▪ Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts
• ▪ Proficiency in Python for analytics, automation, machine learning, and AI applications
• ▪ Strong understanding of predictive modeling, machine learning, statistical methods, and forecasting techniques
• ▪ Experience working with large datasets, data warehouses, and enterprise reporting environments
• ▪ Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools
• ▪ Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• ▪ Ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable business recommendations
• ▪ Highly organized with strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality
• ▪ Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
• ▪ Collaborative, innovative, and continuously focused on learning emerging technologies and analytical methodologies
