Data Scientist

World Wide Technology is hiring a Data Scientist to support consulting services through quantitative analysis and data-driven problem solving. The role involves applying statistical techniques, working with data analysis tools and databases, and translating analytical results into business recommendations.

What they're looking for:

• 1-3 years of progressive experience in a related field
• Bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, computer science, economics, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, industrial engineering)
• 1-3 years of relevant work experience in data analysis or related field. (e.g., as a statistician / data scientist / data engineer), including internships
• Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Python) and database languages (e.g., SQL)
• Experience articulating business questions and using mathematical techniques to arrive at an answer using available data
• Experience translating analysis results into business recommendations
• Curiosity, humility, and openness to learn. In other words, we just need a Beginner's Mind, even if you have decades of professional experience
• Demonstrated skills in selecting the right statistical tools given a data analysis problem
• Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership and self-direction
• Demonstrated willingness to both teach others and learn new techniques
