Data Scientist, Entry

Naval Nuclear Laboratory supports the safety and reliability of the nation's naval nuclear reactors and trains U.S. Navy personnel who operate them. The Engineering Quality organization is seeking an entry-level Data Scientist to develop data solutions, support strategic decision-making, and translate data into actionable insights for engineers and management.

What you'll do:

• Design, build, and optimize data solutions that support strategic decision making across the organization
• Translate data into clear, actionable insights for engineers and management

What they're looking for:

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related engineering or science field; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related engineering or science field
• All candidates must be U.S. citizens
• Proficiency in Python, including experience with ETL tools and libraries (such as pandas, PySpark, or similar)
• Hands-on experience designing ETL workflows and automating data transformations
• Strong knowledge of Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and dashboard/report development
• Ability to translate complex data into intuitive visualizations for leadership and non technical stakeholders
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
• Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
