About this role

AlixPartners is a leading global consulting firm that is seeking Summer Analysts to support their Risk Analytics team. The interns will apply accounting, finance, and data analytics skills to help clients address critical business issues and support complex matters including commercial litigation, business valuations, and investigations.

What you'll do:

  • Apply finance, accounting, and operational concepts to frame analyses and test hypotheses in high-stakes client matters
  • Extract, reconcile, validate, and analyze data from complex enterprise systems to build a clear, audit-ready data story
  • Build and manage large, complex datasets—transforming raw inputs into structured, analysis-ready tables and repeatable workflows
  • Develop structured client-ready materials that translate analyses into actionable insights using visualization and statistical modeling
  • Use industry-leading analytics tools to deliver fast, meaningful insights through innovative, interactive visualizations across high-volume data

What they're looking for:

  • Currently pursuing a master's degree with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028, with ability to participate in our internship program from June 2027 to August 2027
  • Must be enrolled in a master's degree program in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field with a basic knowledge of accounting, statistics, financial and econometric modeling
  • Proficiency using SQL to query, join, and manipulate data from relational databases, demonstrated through prior work experience, internships, research, or academic projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (e.g., ability to use formulas, data analysis tools, and create structured presentations)
  • Professional proficiency in English in written and verbal formats required to support client communications and deliverables
  • Demonstrated experience performing analytical or quantitative work (e.g., coursework, internships, research or projects)
  • Ability to travel up to 100% Monday through Friday as required
  • Must be able to work a hybrid schedule with regular in-person presence in our New York office and be able to commute to the office as required
  • Willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours as unique projects/needs arise
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday
  • Must become familiar with, and promote and abide by, our Core Values as defined by the AlixPartners' Code of Conduct and foster an inclusive environment with people at all levels of an organization
  • IMPORTANT: This role is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization at any time. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now and in the future

Benefits:

  • AlixPartners has embraced a hybrid work model to provide flexibility and support our employees’ work-life integration.  Our hybrid model combines a mix of in-person (at client site or AlixPartners office) and remote working.
  • Travel is part of this position, but the frequency may vary based on client, team, and individual circumstances.
