Data Scientist (Translational Science)

Verismo Therapeutics is a biotechnology company focused on developing KIR-CAR cell therapies for cancer. The Data Scientist will support translational research and clinical-stage programs by automating data workflows, analyzing biomedical datasets, developing visualization tools, and managing biospecimen tracking systems.

What you'll do:

• Partner with ClinOps, Clinical Development, and QA to ensure high-quality clinical and biomedical data to ensure accurate sample-to-data mapping
• Perform exploratory data analysis and create intuitive tools for multi-parameter data visualization in collaboration with PhD scientists to uncover insights and guide decisions
• Build and automate data pipelines and workflows to streamline data intake, QC, results reporting, and sample metadata integration
• Standardize, integrate, and harmonize datasets from multiple sources to support cross-study analyses
• Design and develop scalable biospecimen tracking and logistics tools that provide real-time visibility into clinical sample inventory, lifecycle, chain-of custody, location, and testing status, ensuring audit readiness and compliance with regulatory and internal QA requirements
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve data systems, workflows, and overall operational efficiency

What they're looking for:

• Master's degree in Data Science or a related quantitative field
• Strong hands-on data visualization and data analysis techniques (e.g. R, Python, Excel, SQL, GraphPad Prism)
• Formal academic training, or demonstrated professional expertise, in biological sciences is required. Candidates must have sufficient biological knowledge to understand and work effectively with biomedical and translational datasets
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant industry experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or a closely related biomedical industry
• Demonstrated experience working with biological, biomedical, translational, or clinical datasets
• Strong analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to documentation and compliance best practices
• Ability to work with and integrate diverse datasets and sources
• Collaborative, team-oriented attitude
• Familiarity with Cell or Gene Therapy is a plus
• Industry experience is desirable
• Experience with bioinformatics, immunology, and oncology preferred
